Joy had endured tremendous emotional and physical pain over the course of her 7-year marriage, where the constant pressure of childlessness weighed heavily on her. Throughout those years, her husband’s harsh words and accusations, suggesting she was bewitched, only deepened her wounds. He even encouraged her to visit a witch doctor to fix the issue, but Joy, standing firm in her faith, refused. Tragically, she had suffered three miscarriages and one stillbirth, and with each loss, her heart grew heavier.
In her search for peace and healing, Joy turned to Hope and Purpose Ministries, where she found a supportive community and spiritual guidance. It was during this time that I had the privilege of conducting an inner healing prayer session with her, specifically focused on healing the pain of loss and restoring her hope. Three months later, Joy joyfully shared the news that she was expecting.
Through the continued prayers and support from both Hope Fellowship Uganda and our ongoing spiritual care, Joy’s pregnancy progressed smoothly. In March 2020, she gave birth to a healthy baby boy—a precious miracle. We praise God for His faithfulness and for the role that Hope Fellowship Uganda played in fostering an environment of love, hope, and healing during her journey.
This story is a testament to the transformative power of faith, prayer, and community support. It also highlights how, with the right spiritual care and fellowship, even the most broken hearts can be restored, and miracles can happen.
Restored Through Forgiveness: Frank's Journey from Despair to Hope.
we met Frank in 2019 at the Rubaare Full Gospel Church during a three-day conference. At that time, Frank was deeply broken. His wife had abandoned him after he tested HIV positive, taking their two children with her back to her parents’ home. The emotional weight of this abandonment caused Frank to fall into despair. He stopped serving in his local church, turned to alcohol and smoking to numb the pain, and his work as a carpenter began to suffer as a result of his new addictions.
When Frank heard about an upcoming Hope Conference being held at his church, he made the decision to attend, despite his struggles. During a powerful group session focused on healing the losses in life, Frank cried out to God for restoration. It was in that moment of vulnerability and surrender that he made a life-changing decision: he chose to forgive his wife for abandoning him, and he asked God to heal his broken heart and restore his family.
The transformation over the course of the three-day conference was nothing short of remarkable. Frank not only reconnected with his faith and found the strength to serve God in his church again, but his carpentry business also experienced a miraculous turnaround. The healing he experienced in both his spirit and his circumstances gave him new hope and purpose.
Frank’s story is a testimony of the power of forgiveness, healing, and God's restorative love. What started as a broken man drowning in despair ended in a life filled with renewed purpose, restored relationships, and a revived calling to serve God.
From Loss to Peace: Miriam's Story of Forgiveness and Restoration.
Miriam first came to Hope Fellowship Uganda conference seeking prayer, overwhelmed by the difficulties of providing for her children. Struggling to make ends meet, she was in search of a small job to help support her family. Three years earlier, Miriam had lost her husband, and since then, her life had been filled with unimaginable challenges. Her husband's relatives had seized all of their family property, leaving her without a home or means to care for her children. With nowhere else to turn, she was forced to return to her own family, but the burden of rejection and loss weighed heavily on her heart.
During one of our inner healing prayer sessions, Miriam experienced a profound encounter with God's presence. As she prayed, a deep peace washed over her, and she felt the loving presence of Jesus filling her heart. In that moment, she found the strength to forgive those who had abandoned her—the relatives who had taken everything from her and forced her into such difficult circumstances.
This act of forgiveness brought incredible healing to Miriam's heart. As she experienced the freedom that came from releasing her anger and pain, she also found renewed hope for her future. Miriam's story is a beautiful example of how, even in the midst of hardship and loss, God's love can bring peace and restoration.
Learning to Let Go: How God's Grace Transformed My Anger.
"In the past, I struggled with anger issues, even during my time as the chairperson of Scripture Union in school. There were moments when I would lose control, reacting quickly to anything that irritated or hurt me. At the time, I thought it was normal. I justified my reactions by telling myself, 'It's okay because I’m defending myself, and I deserve justice.'
But everything changed when I joined HOPE Fellowship at university. I began to realize that even when wronged, reacting in anger was not the solution. I learned that instead of lashing out, I could bring my frustrations and battles to God through prayer. Fighting back doesn’t bring peace; it only escalates the situation and makes things worse.
Today, by the grace of God, I am a completely different person. You could do or say anything to me, and I would simply look on with patience and tolerance. I can’t even explain how it’s possible, but I know it's the grace of God working in me. I am incredibly grateful to the Lord for His transformation in my life, and I’m proud of who I am today.
All the glory goes back to God for this change in my life."
Annet's Story of Freedom from Strongholds: A Journey of Healing and Transformation.
Annet, a student at Uganda Christian University, Mukono, had struggled for over five years with a stronghold in her life—masturbation. This destructive habit had gripped her heart and mind for years, and by the time she arrived on campus, it felt like an overwhelming challenge that she couldn't escape.
However, during her time at university, Annet encountered Hope Fellowship, where she began to experience a profound healing process. It was here that she truly met Jesus, much like the Samaritan woman at the well in John 4:1-42. Through a series of fellowship gatherings, Annet began to experience healing not only in her heart but also in her mind. The process was gradual, but after three meetings, she felt the touch of the Holy Spirit in a powerful way. Through this encounter, God helped Annet realize that the enemy had been using this stronghold to destroy the beautiful person she was meant to be.
We continued to pray together, breaking the stronghold of masturbation, and I encouraged Annet to immerse herself in God's Word daily. We also prayed for the Holy Spirit to take full control of her life. This journey of healing took time, and I kept in touch with her, checking in on her progress. One day, she shared, "I’m fed up with this act of masturbation. I need a change in my life."
By God's grace, while alone in her room, Annet made the life-changing decision to stop. The victory didn’t come immediately, but as she walked through the process of healing, she began to feel the weight of that stronghold lifting off her. She often called to share how incredible it felt to no longer engage in the practice. She described it as a newfound sense of freedom and joy—something she had never experienced before.
The transformation was powerful. Annet felt as though a heavy burden had been taken off her, and her life began to reflect the peace and victory that only God could bring. She was truly set free by the grace of God, walking forward with a renewed sense of purpose, peace, and joy.
All glory and honor go to God for the healing and freedom Annet experienced. Her testimony is a powerful reminder of the transforming love of God, the freedom that comes through the Holy Spirit, and the victory found in surrendering to Christ.
